TM designed a majority of the Airbnb user experience including multiple generations of the iOS app, core booking experience, host experience, listing page, discovery, home page, social features, Facebook integration, wish lists, discovery and user profiles. We worked closely with the CEO to define Airbnb's 5-year product vision.
Our design efforts dramatically simplified the user experience while building a much loved brand amongst consumers. We improved navigation and visual aesthetics, unified the guest and host experience, helped scale to 128 countries in 34,000 cities, and encouraged travelers to engage with hosts, fostering meaningful connections and community.The impact of design can be measured: Quantitatively our design work increased user engagement, increased the supply of instantly bookable properties and increased booking conversion.
Airbnb's iPhone app was selected by Apple as “App of the Year” and recognized as the “Most Disruptive App” of the year.
